Lila Calloway began with a simple complaint: most winter coats looked good in a lookbook and did nothing in real weather.
Our founder spent a decade in outerwear production, watching beautiful shells paired with insulation that gave out at the first real cold snap. Fit charts stopped at a handful of sizes. "One size fits most" rarely fit anyone particularly well.
So we started over. We test every shell fabric and fill against actual winters, not studio lighting. We grade every fit across a genuine size range, for women and for men, because cold doesn't discriminate by department. And we keep our line small and considered — coats, knitwear, and boots that are built to be worn hard for years, not photographed once and forgotten in a closet.
We're based in San Francisco, and we ship to customers across the US and beyond who'd rather own fewer, better things than fill a closet with clothes they don't quite trust in the cold.
Every piece we make is judged by one question: would this actually keep someone warm on the worst day of the year? If the answer isn't yes, it doesn't make the collection.
